Michael Fattorosiabout this book: "Resurrection of the Scrolls" is the culmination of more than 12 years of research, five trips to Italy and hundreds of ancient documents translated. It has not only been a labor of love but also one of discovery.
What started innocently as a day trip to small Italian village near the Amalfi Coast has turned into a lifelong passion. I never intended on telling this story publicly. However, after sharing the findings of my family research I continued to get the same response – "that would make a fascinating novel." So thus, I began writing "Resurrection of the Scrolls." This novel occurs in the present day but uses flashback sequences to introduce the reader to important historical facts. There are five more novels in development that will span the period from the 11th century through the 21st century. All the historical references are true and are based on actual occurrences.
The research has been fascinating and being able to put this puzzle together has been very rewarding. I have learned a lot about Italian history from the Norman Conquest through the Nazi's retreat of Southern Italy during World War II. Because of it I have fallen in love with the Amalfi Coast and at some point in the near future, plan on moving there at least for a part of the year.
It truly has been a life-altering experience.
