The Grady Diet all started when I gained weight for a movie role, and afterward, the extra 30 pounds gained for the movie didn't come off as planned. Pretty funny, huh? I groped for a way to lick the weight and endured frustrations. I read, talked to people, kept my ears tuned for good tips and put them into action. Pretty soon I assembled an offbeat set of habits and practices that worked for me and discovered foods that made me feel good and that I could eat without deprivation. Also, I had the phenomenal results to display: I dropped 70 pounds and seven pants sizes in under a year.
People kept asking me for my secret. From a little seed the book grew and flowered—ten tips I wrote up for a guy at the dry cleaners who was taken aback by how many inches a pair of my suit pants had to be taken in. This book grew magically, effortlessly as stone soup seasoned by the Grady difference, levity applied to the usually dour topic of dieting—all because people like you kept asking my secret.
