Joan Hall Hoveyabout this book: I was inspired to write 'Listen to the Shadows' my first novel, by a love for the gothic suspense novel. I wanted to write a roller coaster thriller that had all the elements to keep my own heart beating faster as I wrote the chilling scenes, and that of my readers.
When Kate emerges from a coma, she remembers the horror of the night of the accident. The terrifying dead eyes that had looked into hers in the rear view mirror. But no one believes her. Even the psychiatrist they sent to her room implied that she was lying, or dreamed the 'dead eyes' she claimed had caused the accident.
Released from the hospital, Kate takes a taxi to her remote farmhouse on Black Lake. Darkness has already fallen. There is only the wind in the trees to greet her...and the cold empty house.
But the house is not quite empty. Something awaits her. Something with cold, dead eyes.
