Amy Hearstabout this book: The Gladiator's Girl is a novella about a fateful romance in Ancient Rome.
Rue, a slave girl, is unhappy about her live at a gladiatorial school, or ludus. When she meets Ducius, a new gladiator, her entire life is changed, and for the first time in a long time, she hopes for the future. But that future is cloudy, as Ducius could be killed any day in the arena, and Rue doesn't know how she'll ever escape slavery.
As the love between them grows, both look for ways to find permanent happiness together.
The Gladiator's Girl is my first work of fiction. I was a journalist for twenty years and a college professor for several more but have always been a fan of historical novels and films. And I've always dreamed of writing a book.
