Josee D'Amoreabout this book: "The Soul's Fight: Wrestling with Forgiveness" tackles what forgiveness is and what it is not with my story woven throughout.
I wrote this book as an inspiration to others to choose forgiveness and witness their own lives be transformed because of that choice. It happened in my life in profound ways.
I believe forgiveness is largely misunderstood and because we misunderstand it, we reject it. I did for two long depressing years. During those years, I was still broken, wounded and hurting. I wanted to be whole and experience healing in my life. So,I decided I would study what forgiveness is and what it is not from a faith based perspective. What I learned was shocking. The biggest thing I learned is that forgiveness is for me,not for the one who hurt me. That was stunning.
I share all the gems I learned along the path of forgiveness in hopes the reader will also walk this path and discover healing. Will you join me in unraveling this thing called forgiveness? I hope so. It will be worth your time.

Amazing RealizationAlthough I've told myself I know how to forgive, I didn't realize how wrong I was until I read this book. Reading The Soul's Fight and following Josee's story made me realize I had a lot to learn. After reading the book my forgiveness was tested and I truly credit this book to making that journey a success. Thank you for sharing your incredible story, you are a God send! [by Angel]
Forgivness is more than just a word or action, it is a Process that can take yearsAs you read this book you find yourself walking alongside Josée through this journey of Forgiveness. Before you know it your heart is breaking, you are angry, you are crying, and you are overwhelmed, but you also feel so empowered with every step of healing that she overcomes. More than once you find yourself full of Joy and Praising God out loud!
Josée bravely & honestly tackles the unfathomable trauma as she travels back in time to journey forward through a long painful process. She shares the lessons she learned and she reminded me that Forgiveness isn't a onetime thing…You just don't say that you Forgive someone and then move on with your life. She teaches that Forgiveness is a process with many difficult steps and that it is necessary for YOU not for the person who offended you.
I am so grateful for this book and admire Josée so much for her Courage in sharing it with others and for providing helpful tools to guide us through the process. It continues to help me with my Journey as I know it will help everyone who reads it. [by Torie B.]
