Clive Mullisabout this book: Banker's Draft is a light-hearted fantasy/mystery/crime romp.
A murder at an accountant's has far reaching consequences, and Cornwallis, who is brought in to solve the crime, finds there is a little bit more to it than first appears. It seems the secret police have taken more than a passing interest.
What follows is an interesting wander through the streets of Gornstock. We have the Universal Collider which can see into other universes, we have Gerald, who 'ain't really there', and we meet Fluffy, the cat with attitude. Morrismen rule the City by means of the Morris Council,Sergeant MacGillicudy tags along and we meet Cornwallis' sidekick, Frankie. Then there's Rose ... !
The idea came to me when British politicians were caught with their snouts in the expenses trough. Merchant bankers were also, quite rightly in my opinion, pilloried for being excessively greedy when their bonuses were due.Politicians and Banker's, enough said?
Banker's Draft is just my way of having a little dig at them all.
