Madison Kentabout this book: Dragons are eminently a wonderful combination of beauty, strength and magical wonder. For years, I collected dragon figurines of any kind, and have always been fascinated by their status in the fantasy genre. However, I have always believed they should be positioned in fantasy story telling with greater authority and power. In this story, they finally reach their deserved place of prominence.
The Night of the Twelfth Moon elevates dragons to a place of honor, where they now take on Merlin for power. The time is far into the future, 4030 A.D., when life on planet Earth resembles nothing of what it was when humans still existed in their primal form. Nuclear war has all but destroyed most living things, and what life does still linger has been transformed into various forms of mutations.
Dragons, living far below the Earth's surface, have been fortunate to have survived extinction by not being exposed to toxic air and polluted waters. They eventually find themselves above ground at the request of the Hali tribe, a peaceful mutant group, who has begged them for their assistance in saving the Earth.
They divide the continents among them, patrol and assist with uprisings and clearing fields to grow new food sources.
Militant mutants who wish to gain control over as much of the weakened life forms remaining are growing stronger. On the Night of the Twelfth Moon, an even greater threat will come into the dragon kingdom, as the new baby dragon is born called Adameros.
