Evren Senerabout this book: A mysterious, ancient library serves as a portal for souls entering and returning from books holding parallel universes. The Chief Librarian, a wise and powerful master, is charged with protecting the Spiral Library from attacks by Kal, the arch enemy wishing to conquer and control this safe haven's secret mission.
One cold morning the library's long-silent "Golden Gong" sounds, sending all connected with it into a flurry of change. The last two Chief Librarian candidates have disappeared without a trace. Under the shadow of anger and mistrust, the teen girl Soe is selected and forcibly taken to the library as its last-chance successor candidate. Without a new Chief Librarian this vital soul port will be left defenseless.
To purify and prepare her to serve, Soe must now undergo 12 nights of trial that test her core values and strengths. Soe adds to this mountainous challenge a secret search for the two lost candidates – her twin brother and her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Kal attacks, threatens and impedes her missions while acting in partnership with Soe's greatest enemy. He plays on her weakest points and tries anything to trick her.
Soe's adventuresome spirit takes her on a wild ride, magnetizing her curiosity, dare-devil spontaneity, keen reasoning skills, and pulling her into scenes that bring out the best and worst in her. Accompany Soe as she drives a chariot pulled by "fire horses," shifts her shape while escaping an enchanted forest, drinks potions supplied by a 200-year-old young man, and discovers firsthand the truth about the powers of nature.
Within the story's plot is a natural wisdom that mirrors questions such as, "Are we living in an illusion?" and "Just who is the enemy?" All of this lies hidden in the most unusual library one could ever imagine.
• "I thoroughly enjoyed this little journey into the Spiral Library by Evren Sener. It was like Jonathan Livingstone Seagull meeting Yin and Yang. For me, it spoke about flying above the illusions we are taught, and re-discovering our true inner voice, then listening to it. It is a kind of parable about the DNA of our spiritual journey and the many winding strands that make it up. ..."
