Bea Cannonabout this book: This short story depicts what starts out as an ordinary evening in the household of Cady and Sam, who have a preference for living an unexciting life, for which they have their reasons. They dearly love each other, and they're doing all right financially. They get up every day, go to their jobs in the nearby city of Charlotte, pay their bills, take care of their kid, and in general, behave as the average family in their small town of Matthews, N.C.
Unfortunately, one evening, life conspires to disrupt what they have considered their ideal way of life for the past five years, and they are not thrilled as they are thrown into a situation that feels awfully familiar.
I wrote this story strictly for fun, and have started two others involving these characters. I plan to keep them all as short stories for now, but will probably expand a story or two into a novella, or maybe even a novel.
