Lindsey J Parsonsabout this book: Sam must overcome her distrust, fear and disbelief in order to help Damian save his world from ours.
Sam has just started University and she's having nightmares about a strange and scary man. Damian keeps seeing a ghost girl and feels compelled to help her, but when he reaches out to her he gets sucked into our world. Together they must figure out how to get Damian home, but there are others from Damain's world here too and they aren't here by accident.
Vortex is a Fantasy/Paranormal romance, I wrote it for the young adult market, but it has been enjoyed by readers of all ages. It's the first book in a trilogy called Return of The Effra and it took me eighteen months to write it. I'm now almost finished the second book Wicked Game which will be published this summer (2013).
The cover may look a little strange, but once you've read the book it becomes obvious. It is in fact an image of the standing stones where the Vortex is conjured with the sky starting to swirl above them.
If you choose to read Vortex thank you so much I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I am always thrilled to hear peoples views so please let me know what you think, either as a review or on FB or twitter etc.
Lindsey Parsons writes a fantasy story that is both riveting and believable. The characters are captivating and the plot keeps readers on the edge of their seats! This book is a page-turner that will grab readers, wrap them up and hold them hostage all night long, just to find out what will happen next! - Ind'tale Magazine

what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
Romance, war, magic and adventureThis is a story that'll grab you by the collar and drag you in. It has all the classic elements of high fantasy, skilfully mixed with the contemporary. A must have read! [by Kate Babbington]
A blending of worldsI couldn't put this book down. The settings, characters and narrative flow at an amazing rate. The two main protagonists, Sam and Damian, are so three dimensional, it isn't hard for the reader to emphasise with them. Lindsey Parsons has the enviable talent of being able to project her story right off the page, straight into the reader's imagination.
