Katie Epsteinabout this book: I have always been intrigued by fairy tales, and it amazes me how they are still as popular in our culture today as they were a hundred years ago. When you delve deeply into their history, you begin to understand that there is more to them than what we are shown through common media channels. A lot of these stories have been blended in with modern times too, where they've taken traits from different versions of the stories; including the folk tales that have no known author. A lot of them are quite short and written in a way that is foreign to our ears, but I love the possibilities within them that expect the reader to believe in the unbelievable without restraint. This is what urged me to write my own version of Cinderella, but with a hardened female protagonist who hadsa modern edge. I wanted to keep the 'Olde English' backdrop, so it's been written with an eclectic blend of the old vs the new—not forgetting to include some of the fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters we know and love. Rella Rosewood a.k.a Cinderella is now a renegade hunter and she has been hired to try and determine if the Duke of York is an imposter or not. She's had to go undercover at the ball hosted by Prince Charming, and it all goes down hill from there. This is a story intended for adults, especially with Rella's foul mouth and liking for alcohol. She has a big heart deep down though and she is a stickler for justice. Just watch out if you're on the other end of her wrath.
