Shereen Vedamabout this book: A Perfect Curse, the third book in the Rue Alliance series, was inspired by Snow White. I say inspired by, and not a re-telling of, because this tale is wholly unique. You'll have to be as clever as Sherlock Holmes to figure out just how and where the old beloved fairy tale is seamlessly woven into this unforgettable historical romance novel.
My favorite review of A Perfect Curse in Goodreads describes the heroine, Nevara Wood, like this: "She was very sweet with a streak of stubbornness that was actually pretty charming."
This story will take you from historical London, a city where horse-drawn carriages and class distinctions abound, to where Nevara works as a librarian in a very special house filled with magical shifters. From there, we cross the Atlantic ocean (not an easy thing to do if you're a woman in 1814), where you'll experience what life was like aboard a tall ship. Finally we end up on the rugged coastal sand dunes of Spain, where all bets are off.
Be warned, this magical story is meant to be savored, enjoyed and treasured. Rush through it, and you might miss too many clues.
As Sherlock would say: "You know my method. It is founded upon the observation of trifles."
