Linda Nanceabout this book: Facing difficult times is a challenge but with a family it can be the challenge of a life time. After the loss of his job, a father faces loss of their home and living in a bad part of town watching his children drift farther from family and home into life on the streets. Evicted from there to relocate with help from distant relatives, or be homeless left them few choices and many more problems than they could have dreamed. We all have choices in life and those choices have consequences that can be more far reaching that imagined. Some choices we might not live through and life will never be the same. Some choices can leave a tear in the eye, ache in the heart but strength in surviving to face another day. Share what they face and what it is to survive...as life goes on.
I decided to write this book as there are so many people facing difficulties in many ways. When we have children we may do our best but do not always have all of the right answers or ways to reach them with what we try to do or teach. We have challenges and things we face in our own right we work to overcome or resolve. There are so many things that we least expect that may alter our lives forever. I did not write telling a wonderful happy story where they all loved and lived happily ever after. I wanted to write a story that seemed so real the reader could know the characters to love, hate, laugh, or even want to shout out for them to stop and think. I wanted you can come and join them. I wanted a story that would entertain but make you feel as if you know them.
I chose the cover from one of my own photos. The day I took it the sky seemed ablaze with color. The road seemed filled with cars each going to their own worlds, places and lives ... Life Goes On.
One of the difficulties I faced when I wrote and published this book was a feeling of urgency and even desperation. I have loved to write all my life but was ill and getting worse in a frightening speed. I wanted to hold at least one of the books I wrote in my hand before going for surgery. I chose this to be my first published and second book written with the hope that it gives so much more than just a story told and book to read.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
