Book: Modern Fairy Tales for the Fairy Tale Jaded - Volume 1 by Suzanne Struthers

Suzanne Struthersabout this book: Modern day fairy tales served with a side of sass - they're fairy tales, but not as we know them!
Meet Dane, the pop culture loving geek who meets the girl of his dreams on the California coast, there's just one problem... said girl only walks on legs for one hour every 24 hours, otherwise she sports a fashionable fish tail. Which is great for swimming, but not so great for dating. Or Chloe, a no-nonsense type A whose first instinct upon meeting the centaur, Max, is to wonder if she ate something dodgy or has a previously unknown family history of hallucinating.
And more tales chock full of humor and romance!
I was inspired to write these tales because my six-year-old daughter is utterly fascinated by fairy tales and while reading them to her I began to feel that the genre, filled with female characters who were denied a backbone, and male protagonists who are really too perfect to be believable, needed to be updated a bit. My tales follow the traditional trajectory of the classic fairy tale but are chock full of sarcasm, imperfect characters, and a true meeting of minds.
