Book: Desirable Property by R A Lyndhurst

R A Lyndhurstabout this book: Since I was a teenager I have written short stories about relationships, but after reading and loving the Fifty Shades trilogy I decided to have a go at a novel with 'subtle erotica'–a book that has both a good plot and a build up to explicit sexual content. The two main protagonists, Alex and Elizabeth, both have connections to the property business–hence the title–and finance is one of the themes that runs through the book.
Although Alex is a very dominant character, I wanted Elizabeth also to be a strong, modern woman; I wanted them to be real people with flaws as well as strengths.
One thing that always surprises me whilst writing is that characters sometimes do not do what you want them to–it seems a bizarre thing to say, but they actually take on a life of their own, and won't always be dictated to. This happened with Desirable Property–occasionally I just had to let them do as they wished.
Who are my target audience? Broadminded adults, obviously, but ones who want something more in a book than constant titillation. The sexual description and excitement is there, but I hope that is the icing on the cake. First and foremost I want my readers to enjoy the story.
