However, with the explosive market of eBooks, I now can pick and choose from many types of paranormal erotica or, when the mood strikes, I can write a tale myself. A friend of mine, a lovely author I met through blogging, read Baby, You're Cold Inside, as a favor to me and she had many positive things to say about my book including that my lead character, Lily Sinclair, was the most original character she's ever read. I was surprised by that statement until I thought about it a little. Now, I'm not saying Lily is the most original character in the genre, but she is different than other woman I've met in the in the world of erotic storytelling.
Lily is a very confident woman. She runs a company, a company she started and she is always in control. She's cold, calculating and makes no apologies for her behavior. Why should she? If she were a man, no one would think twice about her cold manner; they would take it as a sign of strength. In a woman, it's not always looked on favorably and therefore in the romance and erotic genre, a woman like Lily often changes to become someone much softer and a lot warmer. Often, the woman changes dramatically, usually for a man, and becomes someone almost unrecognizable from the character that you were introduced to at the beginning of the book.
Well...I don't want to give too much away, but in Baby, You're Cold Inside, a tale that is in the spirit of "A Christmas Carol" (but is a tale that would probably make Mr. Dickens blush), I can't guarantee a 180 degree change in Lily. It didn't seem right. It didn't seem Lily. However, what I hope you will find is that Lily is someone who is entertaining, sexy and fun to read.
