Mark A. Leiterabout this book: While my book has many erotic passages, unlike many books of its sort, I did not at all mean to write a book in the erotica genre, for its own sake.
I took the story out of true events which I came across in my 35 year + law practice, and even within my own family. My book tells the story of an innocent young girl, with natural desires, and a cold professional husband. Not a bad man; simply cold and professional.
The young wife and mother becomes good friends with another, more aggressive young woman. The two of them form a sexual and romantic liaison, which, as often happens, becomes very hurtful to both. The reason for this is that the younger woman becomes absolutely, obsessively in love, and unwillingly finds that she would, against her own will, do whatever the stronger partner wishes her to do --- even to the point of having a sexual relationship with a man of the stronger woman's choice. The purpose is for LILY to have "their" baby.
The older, "stronger" woman , Marlene, is not, however, a bad person, and actually suffers over her increasing sado-masochistic control over LILY, which Marlene herself, cannot control.
Additionally, this book looks at the development, physically and socially of Buffalo, New York, during the years of LILY's young life covered by the book.
Thus, this book is certainly more than simply an erotic book. It is a psychological look at a tragic love relationship, as well as a look into Catholic and Jewish communities in Buffalo, New York, as well as of professional life, from the '60's through the '80's.
