Suzette Wallaceabout this book: From the moment I first heard about Poveglia, a haunted island close to Venice in Italy, I knew I had to write a story about it. I searched the Internet for photos of what to me was still a hauntingly beautiful island. I was in love (I'm weird and love the paranormal) Despite the tragic history, from being a dumping ground for the sick for a number of plagues during the middle ages, to having a mental asylum where patients were tortured (Perfect place for a romance novel right?) I find beauty in what others may see as macabre, and I knew the island would make a interesting backdrop for an enduring romance story.
In the far more picturesque city of Venice is where Rachael Rose and Dante Coppola first meet. Dante is a very handsome celebrity chef and Rachael has one failed restaurant under her belt, but when she's given the chance to head Dante's newest restaurant, she takes it.
No one seems to share Dante's belief that Rachael is qualified for the job, and Rachael doesn't place any value in Dante's faith in her because she knows it's because he wants to get in her pants. But the job is better than running back home to New York to the small town she'd left for dreams of conquering the world through food.
Despite everything standing in their way, Rachael and Dante cannot ignore their attraction to each other. But Dante is harboring a terrible secret which should make any woman run for the hills. Love gives them courage, but the darkness surrounding them leads them to Poveglia, and a force they will both have to give everything to conquer.
If you like paranormal romances with dominant men and strong women who like to be spanked, then you'll love Forever My Demon. If you like what I call food porn, then this book is for you. Food is also another character in this book, and I think I watched a hundred episodes of various Nigella Lawson shows while writing this book.
Writing this book was such a wonderful experience, as well as working with the publisher Blushing Books. I hope readers enjoy it as much as I did.
