Rachel de Vineabout this book: Adriana has a tough start in life; a drug addict mother and her mother's abusive boyfriend. However, at the age of eight, she is rescued by an Italian gangster, who takes pity on her, and she grows up alongside his son, Luca, with whom she falls inextricably in love, culminating in a tender scene while swimming in the lake. Tragedy stalks her, however, when Luca's parents are killed shortly afterwards in a gang vendetta, and she and Luca are separated, seemingly forever.
Ten years pass and, by chance, they meet again in New York. By now Luca is trying to be an honest businessman, but still involved in some criminal activity, as well as being involved in the world of bdsm. He and Adriana are still attracted to each other, but Luca does not want to drag the sweet, young Italian girl into his life, and refuses to be more than friends. Adriana, however, is persistent, and persuades Luca that they belong together.
No sooner are they together, however, than Luca's past catches up with them, and he is forced to return to Italy to confront it, risking his life to settle the vendetta once and for all. Adriana, afraid that she will lose Luca once more, follows him there. She has been through so much already, but she is prepared to do anything it takes to finally claim Luca for her own.
This is a tale of passion and romance, a little spanking and some thrills, and a roller coaster of events that will keep you turning the pages to see if Adriana and Luca can beat the odds and finally have a life together.
