Book: A Love More Precious than Diamonds by Rachel de Vine

Rachel de Vineabout this book: Danny is a 21 year old student in London when he meets, and is seduced by an older woman, Gem, someone who he thinks is the most beautiful and sensual woman he has ever met. Not only does she seduce him, but she introduces him to the world of erotic spanking. Sadly, after a few weeks, she disappears - but Danny knows he will never forget her.
Twenty years later, as a successful businessman in New York, he meets a beautiful and intelligent woman, and falls in love. But his past comes back to haunt him in a way he could never expect, and is in danger of destroying his fledgling relationship with Vicky.
I came up with the title for this book because Gem is named by her Master because of the sparkling diamonds she wears as a gift from him. However, the love that Danny finds with Vicky is worth so much more to him than diamonds.
I chose the cover because there is a night in the book which starts with so much glamour and promise, but ends in sadness and tears. Dan takes Vicky to a glittering charity ball in New York, and he is smitten by the sight of the woman he cares deeply for in a tight, red, sparkling dress and diamond earrings, looking a million dollars, and he cannot believe his luck that she is accompanying him to the ball. He does not know that disaster is just around the corner.
Many of my books contain characters who overcome difficulties in their lives, and manage to achieve happiness despite this. I do love a 'happy ever after' book.
