K. A. Kriskoabout this book: Recently described as "a shining light in the dark world of fantasy", "Crypt of Souls" is the sequel to "Stolen" (and the middle book of a trilogy). I wrote it directly on the heels of "Stolen" without a break between the two. In "Crypt", things get a little darker and weirder. There's some hundred-year old minds stuck in a crypt in the Ruined City, and they're causing a problem. While you might think that a mind that's been sitting around doing nothing for a century or more wouldn't be worth much, turns out that quite a few people are interested in them - and not all of them have benevolent intentions. The Leader of the Outcast Council is considered so untrustworthy that there's a warrant on his head should he ever leave Hyolon - and yet, he's the one to whom the Andolith Sorcerers must turn to save one of their own.
A few questions should be crossing the reader's mind by the end of this book: who are the Lefollah and where did they come from? Who is Stolen? And, perhaps most important of all, who are the Skilled People and how did they get to be the way they are? And the answers are forthcoming - in Book Three!
A note: during the writing of this book I decided I needed to create supplementary documents (which can be found on my website) for consistency's sake. I paused and wrote the Charter of Dispersal, Andolith City Charter, and Notes on Councils, as well as created the Andolith map and Regional map. I also created book trailers for each book, along with my first animated gifs - a great deal of fun!
