Jack Connerabout this book: I've always wondered what "Lord of the Rings" might have been like if Tolkien hadn't been writing the sequel to a children's novel. I imagine it would have been darker, twistier, maybe even a bit sexier. Well, that train of thought has led me to writing my own epic fantasies, and "The War of the Moonstone" is perhaps my best, a fast-paced, swashbuckling story of darkness falling and of love betrayed.
The Dark One has launched his final war upon the goodly peoples of the world, and it's up to Giorn Wesrain, son of a baron, and his lover Niara, High Priestess of Illiana, to oppose him. Their love has been a secret for too long, and it will receive the ultimate test when Raugst, a handsome warrior and an agent of the Enemy, infiltrates the Baron's Court just as the hordes of the Dark One descend upon the great city of Thiersgald.
People who love both J. R. R. Tolkien AND George R. R. Martin will likely enjoy "The War of the Moonstone", as well as fans of Robert E. Howard. Each of these writers had a hand in inspiring "War of the Moonstone" and are among my favorite writers.
I enjoy writing atmospheric yet fast-paced stories, full of tension and fun, stories that a reader will remember long afterward.
