Anna Renaultabout this book: Mitzy, the butterfly, is an avid environmentalist. She enjoys flying around her local area, learning lots of interesting things about the environment that will encourage readers to be more aware of their environment. Mitzy wants to challenge all readers to get more involved in protecting and/or restoring their local environment wherever that might be in the world.
Mitzy's favorite places are the gardens where she lives and the Chesapeake Bay watershed which is a huge area to cover. She also likes to take field trips - locally, around the country and she has hopes of a foreign tour too.
Mitzy let's readers know that sometimes it is something very simply that can make a huge difference. Sometimes, a big thing like a trash boom, also plays a very big role to insure the area has clean water -- a place to swim, go boating, fishing, crabbing and other fun things. She also points out that clean water also plays an important part in our health and our economic well-being too.
