Author Morolayo Anne Owoputiabout this book: No one should offer pronouncements about what it means to be educated without first reading this book. When I first came across the word 'educated', I had thought it meant to be well-read, well-taught and well-schooled. But overtime, I realized that it was ill-thinking to reason that been educated is all about going to school, acquire certificates and bag degrees.

How well-educated are you, a question each of us needs to ask? Does the phrase well-educated refer to the quality of the schooling you received, or to something about you that changed after passing through school? Does it denote what you are taught, or what you learned (and remember) from school? Is sitting in classrooms for x years translate to been an educated fellow.

To a large extent in our environment, memorization of a bunch of facts and high scores in standardized tests and examinations signify traits of been well-educated. And most schooling curriculum seem centered on this goal than more meaningful objectives, such as knowing how to think and how to appropriate the knowledge acquired in an innovative way that can solve corporate and national problems. This mostly has reduced schooling to mere intellectual preparation for workplace that leaves out the real essence.

How well is your education helping to solve real life issues; I mean resolving economic/political/social problems in the nation.

This is what this book is about. It will show you how to assess the impact of the education you have had over the years and where there's a gap, it tells you what to be done. A must-read for everyone who want to continue to be relevant in life and society.
