Denise Jadenabout this book: Never Enough is a book about two sisters who are willing to go to almost any length to feel good enough. The early title for this book was Appetite For Beauty, which I think also suits the book. I wrote it when a close friend of mine was struggling with a severe eating disorder. It was difficult for me to understand my friend's plight and why she couldn't just start eating. I wrote Never Enough to better understand what she was going through and to find a way to be a help to her, rather than feeling like I was always making her situation worse.
While there was some emotional difficulty in writing about such tough subjects, my favorite part of this book to write was the friendship between Marcus and Loann. It's a very slow-growing friendship (and eventually more than a friendship), but they learn to become exactly what the other one needs. In a world full of insta-love romance books, I think their relationship is so refreshing. I wish I'd grown up with a good friend like Marcus.
