J. Richardsonabout this book: When Clay and friends escaped the chaos of New Orleans and reached the haven of his brother's South Dakota farm (The Days After--Big River), the work of survival in a world changed by an unknown catastrophic event was far from over. The event is now ten years behind the residents of the farm and America. The men and women who have grown from just children into young adults are seeking new ways to restore some of the life that was lost. They want more than just survival. Alliances will form, new bonds and relationships will grow. The young and old of the farm and the nearby town will face the challenges and adventures of a time of restoration.
In writing this follow up to The Days After (Big River), I enjoyed the move forward to a time when the survivors of the EMP type event would strive to create a new life. I believe in the optimistic outlook that the worst of problems can be solved and that people just naturally come together and seek to build a better existence. Though my dystopian fiction novels are not marketed as Young Adult, I think that group as well as New Adults would be interested in the stories.
