Book Review: Duncton Wood by William Horwoodcategories: Book, Mole, Duncton Wood
Author: William Horwood
Brand: McGraw Hill
A Bit Too Trite And Sappy At PointsMy boss raved about this series, and lent me the first book. I can't say I was ever able to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy it fully, at some of the more dramatic moments, imagining moles at these points or saying the things they were supposed to say made me want to giggle. I had to skip through some of the sappier bits, I just could not take it. I loved watership down and the Jack London books, but couldn't quite get this one. I found the female characters very one dimensional, maybe I am just too old (34) to like these types of books any more.
