John Marrsabout this book: A loved-one who suddenly disappears without a trace is many peoples worst nightmare.
That's what inspired me to write The Wronged Sons - what would you do if your partner vanished off the face of the earth? How would you cope? Where would you look? How would you continue to live your life never knowing what happened to them?
My character Catherine faces that dilemma when she wakes one morning and her husband and father of their three children Simon has simply vanished. For the next 25 years I follow how she survived, the dilemmas she faced and the heartache of not getting answers to her questions.
But I weave her story with his, because unbeknownst to her, he's started travelling the world on a dark, immoral and shocking journey.
Then 25 years later, he suddenly appears on her doorstep to explain why he left for one final, furious confrontation.
My book was a two-year labour of love - I'm a journalist in London, England and make my living interviewing celebrities from the world of film, television and music for national newspapers and magazines. Writing fiction and from two people's perspectives, one male and one female, was a challenge but thoroughly enjoyable.
I was inspired to write The Wronged Sons by a letter I read in a newspaper from an anonymous woman to her husband who'd vanished some 40 years ago. It made me think about the living hell she must have gone through, before I considered what might have happened to him. Two years later and The Wronged Sons was complete.
I know that it's a risk purchasing a book from an unknown author, but I hope it's one that Ask David's readers will take!

A page turnerLoved this - thanks Ask David! Starts off as a family drama and then becomes a dark mystery - kept me on my toes and kept me guessing right until the last few pages. A welcome surprise. [by Pauline Costello]
