Randa Handlerabout this book: One rainy day, a fun-loving Zebra befriends a bunch of bored jungle animal friends, Lion, Leopard, Giraffe, Monkey, Elephant and Chameleon. She convinces them to forget her usual daily activities, escape their malaise by pretending that they're kings. Playing that game teaching them about each other's differences and their own uniqueness.
Zebra discovers in the process that it's okay not to always want to hang with other zebras as long as she listens to her inner voice and yields to it when it warns her of dangers and cautions her to maintain clear boundaries. That's how she figures out that Lion can stop being her friend when he's angry or hungry. Playing the game helps her figure out her own likes and dislikes and her own comfort zone. Along her quest she learns what that zone is all about and who she feels comfortable allowing in it and calling a friend.
Kids learn, along with Zebra, about jungle animals and what makes them unique and process with her that their differences is what makes them special!
