Carolyn Hughey a.k.a. K. T. Robertsabout this book: Elusive Justice is a continuation of the Kensington-Gerard Detective series. In this book, Tate and Zach are working in different precincts in order to date.
He's working homicide in the Bronx, she's in Missing Persons, a short distance away. And although the story is focused on their cases, they still manage to have a relationship.
Zach is working a case which involves a young boy who witnesses his father's murder. When the police realize the boy can identify the gun smugglers in the neighboring home, they orchestrate getting the boy into the Witness Protection Program. The case becomes more complicated when they learn the boy's only living relative is an aunt, who isn't really related.
As the name of the department would indicate, Tate is working on many cases, one of which is a cold case she investigates on her off hours to help a colleague find her missing brother. It isn't until a key piece of evidence resurfaces that the previous investigators missed, does the case get resolved.
