Book Review: How to Win Over Depression by Tim LaHayecategories: Books, Health, Mind & Body, Mental Health, Depression
Author: Tim LaHaye
Brand: HarperCollins Christian Pub.
Insulting to IntelligenceI certainly hope it has been significantly changed since the original. He points fingers making it seem like depression is all in a person's head brought on by him/herself - not only a personal weakness but a sin. What a load of false guilt. And, for him to think he knows what's going on with a postpartum mom, a bored housewife, a hormonally shifting perimenopausal woman basically blaming their self-pity or other emotions is arrogant, and dangerous.
And the reference to the new bride needing more "repetition" so that sex isn't uncomfortable - is so far off base and chauvinistic. Repetition does nothing for a woman - quality of her lover's actions does. Put the blame where it should be on the man.
