 Outstanding Book!

I read CSM Haney's book when it first came out and well before the Brouhaha of "It's all a fabrication! and "Haney gave away all of Delta's secrets!" So I went back and read it again after reading some of the very outspoken comments towards it and CSM Haney. And I'll say it again - excellent book. Some thoughts on the matter though:

1) The book came out in 2002-03, and yet none of the bitter slander was directed at it until "The Unit" aired on CBS in 2006. Coincidence? Or petty jealousy? Makes me wonder...

2) CSM Haney never made many of the claims that he has been accused of. One person thought he had the goods on him when he said "I have it on good authority that Haney was never the Command Sergeant Major of Delta like he claimed in his book!" He never made that claim. Period! Another one said.. "I just found out that Haney kept his "11 series" MOS instead of going through the Q-Course and earning an "18 Series." So? Again, he never claimed otherwise. And in the book you can clearly see one of CSM Haney's evaluations which clearly show him as an ELEVEN BRAVO.

3) "Haney broke faith with his former comrades!" How so? He has absolutely nothing but the highest praise for each and every man he served with including and especially Charlie Beckwith and Logan Fitch. Logan Fitch, btw, wrote an article for Penthouse magazine where he completely trashed their former commander, Col Beckwith. So why was he never accused of "breaking faith?"

In short, read and enjoy the book and ignore the bullshit from all the keyboard commandos out there with their little cliques and camp followers.
