Book: Lifting the Veils of Death by Joan Adamakcategories: Book, Dying, Caregivers, Survivors, Six Transition Stages, Sorrow, Judgment, Death
Joan Adamakabout this book: This metaphysical book encompasses the first transition stage of the act of dying and releasing from the physical body into the five transition stages after the Soul is released. The purpose of this book is to help others be aware of these stages and by providing the information on each stage, to make it less frightening for those who are once again having this experience. For we humans, death is an "in-your-face" reality.
The six transitions of the passing of the Soul from just before dying and then the stages thereafter were obtained from a well-known psychic, who channeled this when a dear friend of mine was dying. Then I added many of my personal experiences plus those of my friends to help bring this earthly changing event into perspective. The events in this book are true and did happen, but names and places have been changed to protect the privacy of individuals.
I was eleven years old when my mother, age 38, was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. From the very first, I understood that since I was the eldest sibling and a girl, I would be the one to help her through the remainder of her life. Briefly I have set forth those years, which were most difficult. I relate stories and experiences that I and others have lived through… a child losing a mother, a wife losing a husband, loss of close friends, the stages a family goes through before imminent death, near-death experiences, visits from deceased loved ones and reactions of the survivors. I describe and clarify phases that I believe you will pass through after your Soul leaves your body until you plan your next appearance on Earth.
For those families who have older children and a loved one is dying or very ill, perhaps reading this book will give you some insight into children's minds and emotions under such duress. For those adults who are sharing this walk with a terminally ill loved one, perhaps this book will give you some insight into your role as a caregiver. For those of you who are personally facing the transition of passing, perhaps this book will lift the veils a little and give you some comfort and remove much of the fear.
This is not a be-all-to-end-all treatise containing infinite wisdom about death. This book shares what I learned. This is not a religious book. Can I prove what happens to a Soul after death? No. I can only give you my testimony along with those of others. This book is written on a spiritual level, not a religious one.
