Book Reviews: Kith And Kill (Resa James criminal psychologist mysteries Book 1) by Thea Hartley

Thea Hartleyabout this book: This book is the first in a series which features a new Criminal Paychologist to the world of literature. She is Resa James, whose job is as a University Lecturer teaching all aspects of Criminal Psychology. This is not PROFILING ... it is all elements of crime...Victimology. Geographical clusters, History of particular crimes, etc. This makes her different!
I got my ideas for the series from my own career as ..wait for it! ..a Psychology Lecturer. I thought I would turn my knowledge to crime fiction, and try to find, or imagine crimes which were different from the norm.
"Everything that has to be written about has already been written about." Said one literary critic. Maybe, but there are different twists and turns ..and, as technology etc changed new methods or motives.
I believe that there are NO other crime books where either the perpetrator of the crime's motives or the method of the crime have previously been written about.
Yes, murders feature in all my crime books so far, but the motives ...they are truly unusual, and as yet I have not seen them chronicled anywhere else in any type of media (even in the TV programme Dangerous Minds ...and they are truly varied).
The other difference is that these 'strange' crimes take place in a small area of Wales, in the United Kingdom...where nothing usually happens. You may expect a cozy little mystery ... you will be wrong, as will become evident if you read " Kith and Kill".
5 star review "I was shocked, I never saw that coming!"

great stuffThis is indeed a new look at the criminal psychologist and how they work, it was a great surprise for me to read just how they went about their work, and how the criminal was brought to justice. A well written and gripping book, that entertains (in a strange fashion) from beginning to end. Can not wait to read more from this author.
Brilliant new Criminal PsychologistThis is the first in a new crime series...and it hits the ground running. A student of Criminal Psychologist , Resa James, finds her sister and Brother in Law dead . They were killed whilst she slept upstairs in her attic room.
The student, fed up with the police investigation getting nowhere, asks for Resas help. Reluctantly, she gets drawn in using the tool of 'Victimology'' . However, Resa finds that she enjoys using her skills, and the police are glad of her expertise.
As the investigation unravels Resa finds her daughter and subsequently, herself are in danger.
The story takes many twists and turns, clues and red herrings ...until the killer is finally revealed.
A really gripping book that cannot be pit down. Recommended
