Kathleen Heringabout this book: In STUDS, TOOLS AND FOOLS, Laura Howard drives to the bank to make a simple deposit, and interrupts a bank robbery in progress. Before the day is over, she has "decked" the robbery suspect, had her photo shown on TV news, and is launched into a series of home invasions and other misdeeds. All of the characters -- plus members of the Portland Police Bureau -- are working to separate the skunks from the scoundrels in the police lineup.
STUDS, TOOLS AND FOOLS is the third book in the Designer Mystery Series. (Other titles are (1) Hammered, Nailed and Screwed and (2) Ripped, Stripped and Flipped.)
The books are comic mysteries set in Portland, Oregon. They feature home decorator Laura Howard, builder Russ Graham, zany Aunt Esther, dog Hammer and cantankerous cat Louise.
Author Kathleen Hering is a former middle school principal who developed a fine-tuned sense of humor while working with less-than-scholarly students.
The books are written purely for entertainment. Not dirty, not deep, no vampires . . .
