Dianne Harmanabout this book: What could possibly go wrong at a spa? So I asked myself after having a facial and my skin burned and peeled and my face looked like a plum for a couple of weeks. My daughter-in-law was with me and had a facial. Hers was fine. We began to create stories as to why hers worked beautifully and mine didn't. That formed the basis for the story.
Several years later and many stories in my head later, I put the incident in the book, Murder in Cottage #6, the first in the Liz Lucas Cozy Mystery Series. Food and dogs play an important part in my cozy mystery books because quite simply, I love dogs, and I love food!
I also thought readers would enjoy a book where the main characters aren't in their 20's. They've experienced some losses and yet second chances for happiness just might work out. There are good people in the book, not so good people, characters, and a wonderful small town. Plenty of food and recipes! What's not to like?
