Linda Wood Rondeauabout this book: One day while mowing the lawn, I realized that the yard was devoid of grass and that I was mowing nothing but clover. I was told clover was good for the soil, but I really wanted to see grass growing again. Then I thought how my lawn problem was symbolic of many marriages. I asked myself, "What might happen in a marriage that was as unattended as my back yard?" Days of Vines and Roses was birthed.
This book came to its present form over a period of several years. Obstacle upon obstacle seemed to prevent its publication. I targeted the book for married middle-agers. Too often we give up on our marriages, not seeking the Lord's help when our marriages are riddled with problems.
After many tries, my publisher and I came up with this cover, an garden gate opening into a beautiful rose garden. In the book, Henry and Sylvia's selfishness are like the vines strangling their beautiful garden, symbolizing the marriage.
While writing this book, I asked for prayer cover and I researched demonic oppression and symptoms of demon presence in the home. I did not want to give Satan any glory in this book, but rather let the reader decide for themselves if the occurrences in the home were Satanic in origin or a result of group hysteria. Satan will use our fears as well as our disbelief to gain entrance into our homes and lives.
I learned a great deal about God's power to rise above our circumstances while I researched this book. It is never too late to seek God's help to heal broken relationships.
