Michelle Hughesabout this book: Angela's Salvation is a book that's very close to my heart. It's about a young woman who's suffered an abusive past and she auditions for a televised talent showcase in hopes of gaining the dream of stardom. She meets the producer of Overnight Sensation, who also runs a very successful recording studio and there's an instant attraction.
Angela's Salvation is all about rising above the pain in your past and learning that you're not the situations you've been through. Being an abuse survivor myself it was almost therapeutic bringing this romance to life. I came up with the title because Angela is my baby sister's name and Salvation is what I feel she really finds.
The cover to me fits the story of a young woman who's come from a life on the streets and to me it was just very fitting. I loved the lost look in the female's eyes. Most of the research from this book was from my own career in the music industry. Back before I decided to write books, I was a country singer/songwriter.
For me the hardest part about writing the book, was also part of my own healing. Suffering things that no young person should have to remains with you long after you grow into adulthood and leave the situation. While I don't go into graphic detail about the abuse, in my mind I felt every emotion and knew the deeper insight so it made it a little heartbreaking.
