Morgan K. Wyattabout this book: Dogs and children usually steal the scenes in movies. Marley and Me is a perfect example. Why not, put a dog in a romance. Instead, of a cute cuddly puppy, or pedigreed poodle, I went with the ornery Ollie for Puppy Love.
Theo doesn't need another dog, but her son blesses her with her own canine chaos maker. Ollie runs away, doesn't answer to his names, picks fights with dogs ten times his size, and entangles Theo with the newest vet in town, Dr. Brent Knight.
I also set the story in the fictional small town of Westvale because it allows everyone to take an active part in the budding romance. If most romances don't run smooth, Theo's hit some major potholes in the form of a former boyfriend who refuses to give her up, although she hasn't dated him for years. Add to it her competitive former friend who believes she has first rights at every new man in town. Add into the mix, a sexy little sister, and a contrary car to ramp up the trouble and the laughs.
