Candee Fickabout this book: Catch of a Lifetime is set in a fictional college football program and tells the story of a rookie football coach and an athletic trainer/tutor who hates football. As they fall in love, they have to hide their growing relationship from the team because of school fraternization rules and the need to avoid a scandal that could derail the team's playoff hopes.
It's a clean romance with two Christian characters who try to live out their faith in the face of temptation. The heroine also struggles with forgiveness (i.e. that reason she hates football).
The title is a play on words since Reed is a receivers coach who teaches his players to make the perfect catch on the field. One of those players will make the catch of a lifetime during a game. And snagging the love of a beautiful woman can also be considered the catch of a lifetime.
I was inspired to write this book partially because I'm married to a football coach and wanted to peel back the curtain of what happens inside a football program. As the mother of a college athlete, I also wanted to show how to avoid temptations and live a character-filled life.
