Ann Rothabout this book: Many moons ago, I sold this book to a print publisher. My second sale ever!
I got the idea for Will and Dena's story during a visit to a very cool dude ranch (Rancho de los Caballeros) in Wickenburg, Arizona. What a fun trip that was! A few days into the trip, I saw a mom with her young son. "Look at the cacti, Harry!" she said. With that, the germ of Father of the Year was born.
Entrepreneur Will Stoner is a competent executive, but when he becomes guardian to the son he never knew about, Will does the only thing he can—he hires help. Dena Foster does a great job with his son. Her gentle ways take the trepidation out of parenting, and despite a bad marriage that made Will mistrust women, he warms to Dena. Now he wants more from this nurturing beauty—for himself.
First he has to erase the doubt in Dena's eyes about his feelings for her. Is being a successful businessman, caring father and loving husband too much to ask for?
