Book: Shadow Sanctuary by Inge H. Borg

Inge H. Borgabout this book: SHADOW SANCTUAR was briefly published under the title CLOUDS OF THE HEART (with a different cover). This new novella has been expanded with clues better strengthened (so that today's speed reader will hopefully not miss the surprise ending).
The idea for this novella has rattled around my head for so many years, that my now long-departed mother cried aloud: "Oh, child. This is you!"- An assumption which I fervently denied. Granted, the protagonist is Austrian (like me), she is attractive and successful (no problem there). However, she drinks a little—and that's where I had to draw the line. But in order for the story to work, I had to burden the lady with a grip on the nip.
There is a connection to my other novels—the charming Edward, Con Extraordinaire-although in Shadow Sanctuary, he appears only in Monika Lenz's regretful memory. (He is the one turning out not so charming by any means in the present-day sequel to Khamsin, The Devil Wind of the Nile, which is Sirocco, Storm over Land and Sea.)
As to what I learned from this book? You can't drink and write. The only road to success (whatever that may be, and whenever that may come) is a little bit of talent, an excellent grasp of a language, then comes research, imagination and, above all, tenacity. Keep at it until your fingers bleed, your brain goes foggy, and your eyes cross. And EDIT, EDIT, EDIT.
