Jen Carterabout this book: Chasing Paris is about a recent college graduate, Amy Winthrow, whose life isn't heading in the direction she imagined it would. This all changes, however, when she receives a letter from the deathbed of a grandmother she never knew existed. Despite her family's wishes, she sets out to find out who this woman was and why her life had been kept quiet. In the process, Amy not only learns about her family's history but also discovers a new path for her future.
I began writing Chasing Paris 13 years ago. I was a junior in college, and I never imagined the little idea that struck me while sitting in a lecture on Elizabethan literature would take 13 years to write. But it did. And I'm glad it did. Over those 13 years, a lot changed in my life. Jobs, grad school, marriage, children. I wasn't writing Chasing Paris continuously throughout that period of time—I often put it down to work on other projects—but I always found myself coming back to it. As I grew up, the story grew up. The characters evolved as my life progressed. And now, finally, the story 13 years richer and more complex than I originally imagined.
I hope you enjoy Chasing Paris and feel as though you are on Amy's journey right alongside her.
