J.P. Bordersabout this book: I've spent my whole life between three worlds. I've loved fantasy since I was a child, including contemporary and epic fantasy as well as mythology and comic books. But I got a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics and THEN became a professional programmer. On top of all that, one of my favorite interests is understanding how people's minds & emotions work, and how society fits together.
I've always wanted to find a way to truly join these worlds in a convincing fashion, and include the best of all of them in a story that actually SAYS something. I think I have finally begun that in my series "The Gods in Hiding", and here is the first book - "In the Shadow of the Earth".
Every reader I've heard from has said they read it in "a day and a half", and many of them stayed up late into the night to finish, and they are all clamoring for the sequel. It's a great feeling to actually create something that pulls people in, and I'd like to share it with more readers.
I personally own around 3,000 science fiction & fantasy books, and have read every one cover to cover - and I can promise that my book is completely original, with quality writing and in-depth characterization. Please give it a chance!
