Book: Seducing the Hermit by Suz deMellocategories: Book, Alaska, Erotica, Contemporary Erotic Romance
Suz deMelloabout this book: A trip through our beautiful state of Alaska inspired this book. When I traveled there, it was not only to sight-see but to hang out with a friend who had moved there specifically to land a mate, for men outnumber women in Alaska ten to one. However, as Alaska woman say, "The odds are good, but the goods are...odd."
Our our heroine, Valerie Percy, leaves Los Angeles to work at a radio station on tiny Takinsha Island, in the Alaska panhandle. She's determined to find a lover as quickly as possible to keep her cozy during the long Alaska winter, and she knows what she wants. Maybe a lumberjack type, someone cheerful to keep her happy both in and out of bed.
She falls for Fisher Chugatt, a loner whose home is so inaccessible that it can be reached only by boat. And whose heart is equally inaccessible.
But can Fisher resist Valerie's seductive charms?
Spoiler alert: of course not. Second spoiler alert: this book, though x-rated, has pretensions to literary merit. It's a retelling of the Fisher King myth, one of my favorites. For those of you who don't love Joseph Campbell or Arthurian legends, read more about that here.
