Inge H. Borgabout this book: Egypt's lifeblood is the Nile, the Great Hapi, as the Ancient Egyptians called it. It gave them life through the Annual Inundation, and took it away with impunity through periodic floods.
To modern-day Egypt, specifically the Blue Nile supplies about 85% of the country's water. From Lake Tana in Ethiopia through impenetrable gorges of the Ethiopian Highlands, the Blue Nile joins in Khartum with its tamer sister, the White Nile, flowing out of Lake Victoria.
Now with the backing of China and Russia, Ethiopia is building a monster, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Its catch basin will take five (yes, 5) years to fill. Naturally, Egypt is more than worried what will happen to the Nile as they know it.
In The Nile Conspiracy, Book #5 of her Legends of the Winged Scarab series, Borg conjures up a dastardly plan; but as they say, 'the best laid plans…'
This is a story of international intrigue and riveting adventure – which hopefully will never become a reality. Although, we don't yet know.
