Josh Bakerabout this book: "Please Don't Remove MarGreat's Glasses!" is an inspirational coming of age story that follows the trials and tribulations of privileged teenager, Timothy Clement, as he prepares for his first year of law school.
Things go horribly wrong when Timothy crosses the wrong people and his younger brother Stephen pays for Timothy's reckless behavior with his life. Stripped of his status, abandoned by his friends and family, and incarcerated, Timothy is forced to reevaluate his life, and in particular, his atheist beliefs.
This is a realistic look at challenges facing our teens and young adults in an increasingly secular society. The arguments and attitudes portrayed within are prevalent in our media and educational institutions. It is important to understand the secular viewpoint in order to effectively evangelize and refute their assertions. The book is purposely written in contemporary language that is accessible to all readers, including this impressionable generation.
Utilizing a comic strip character as a vehicle to aid the protagonist through his painful faith journey is a fresh idea which will appeal to teens and young adults alike. We must constantly strive to relate to our youth in new ways.
Readers are sure to be transformed after completing the book and be more compassionate towards those whom they judge harshly. We are all sinners – ALL of us. Only through love and compassion, not condemnation, can we lead souls to salvation. Readers will learn that the Lord does not allow tragedy and hardship to be wasted on mere pain.
"5.0 out of 5 stars A captivating, intriguing and inspirational story; for adults of all ages."

"This is a great story about how it is never too late for forgiveness -- and it is never too late for God to work in each of us for His purposes. Mr. Baker wonderfully paints rich characters and settings and tells a story that is uplifting, has a strong moral and Christian worldview and throws in a few surprises along the way. I discovered that I couldn't put the book down when reading it and the characters lived on in my mind after finishing it -- I wanted to know more! I highly recommend this book to adults of all ages and pray it helps us all to think more deeply about family (genetic family and Christ's family), forgiveness, the redemptive power of the Holy Spirit and what it really means to give our lives to our God. Well done, Mr. Baker!"
"5.0 out of 5 stars A rare find!"
- By Andante
"Please don't Remove MarGreat's Glasses is a gripping, believeable tale that sweeps you along with it from the start. The shallow and hedonistic worldview of it's main character is poignantly shattered by immature and careless decisions. Paying dearly for mistakes, Timothy learns the value of life, and through much suffering comes to conversion of heart. His discovery of the liberating beauty of Christ gives him strength and meaning when family and friends all turn away. His life is transformed as he valiantly and humbly becomes a champion of the poor, destitute, largely misunderstood homeless citizens every city hides. It is a rare find delivering pulse pounding danger, conflict, tragedy, with constant surprises along with the joy that comes from complete redemption at the end."
