about this book: A young man grows up believing he's in love with the girl who lives in the apartment across the hall. Then his single mom and her single dad get engaged and forbid them to date anymore. When Trey and Dusty ignore their parents they get banished to go live a year with their grandparents. Only when Trey meets Bobbi, the girl who lives next door to his grandparents, does he begin to understand the difference between loving someone and being in love with someone.
The title for One Boy Two Islands seemed to come naturally from the story itself. Trey grows up on Buzby Island in North Carolina and winds up on Governor's Island in New Hampshire. I grew up on the North Carolina coast and also lived in New Hampshire's lakes region for a time after graduating high school. For a while, I've been wanting to set a story in the Lakes Region and this book gave me an excellent opportunity to do just that.
