Lis Anna-Langstonabout this book: Tupelo Honey is the story of a little girl living a hard life in Mississippi. It is a coming of age tale about how sometimes you have to give up everything to find what you really need. It is a tale of loss and love and tears but it has a happy ending so don't fret. The primary readers of this books would be young adults up into your 90's. It is a timeless tale really. What inspired me to write this book was a series of writing exercises I took in a class while living in North Carolina. The stories evolved into a larger tale and this is the result. This book was completed over about five years where I was also making films and writing short fiction for literary journals. I think the hardest part of writing any book or script is organizing the material and creating that seamless flow. What I would want to say to my readers is: ENJOY! Be entertained. Laugh and maybe cry a little but more than anything I hope this is a book filled with characters you love and remember because that is the BEST FEELING ever.
