Book: Sea, Sand, and Sabine - A Buzby Beach Novel (The Buzby Beach Series Book 2) by DW Daviscategories: Book, Romance, Recovery, Cutting, Friendship, Trust, Beach, Ocean, Island, Family, Sister, Daughter, Coming of Age
DW Davisabout this book: Sea, Sand, and Sabine is the story of a girl who suffered a tragic event when only twelve years old that left her scarred and bitter at the world, but has a chance to break free from that horrific past and learn to live instead of just survive when a move to Buzby Island brings an opportunity for some coastal healing.
Sea, Sand, and Sabine will let the reader share the emotional journal Sabine takes as life on Buzby Island begins to chip away at the walls she's built around herself.
I was inspired to write Sea, Sand, and Sabine after I learned that a friend and colleague of mine had overcome the same sort of self-injurious behavior Sabine began after the tragic event that changed her young life into one of isolation and loneliness.
Sea, Sand and Sabine is appropriate for middle grade and young adult readers but was written to be enjoyed by readers of all ages. The book took me about a year to write. The hardest part of writing the book was the emotionally wrenching research I undertook to ensure I did justice to what Sabine had endured.
I hope my readers enjoy Sabine's story, and perhaps learn something from her journey.
